Meet Your Supervisor
Experience Taught Me Social Work. Teaching Taught Me How to Teach It.
With more than 30 years of social work experience, I have had the opportunity to work across a wide range of clinical, medical, educational, and behavioral health settings.
My professional experience includes inpatient psychiatry, the state hospital system, Intensive Outpatient Programs (IOP), community mental health, medical social work, school social work, crisis intervention, child and adolescent services, individual and family counseling, and private practice.
Midway through my career, professional burnout led me in a different direction when I became a high school teacher. What initially began as a career change ultimately strengthened something that has become an important part of my work today—the ability to take complicated information and teach it in a practical, understandable way.
Eventually, I returned to the profession I love, bringing the teacher with me.
That combination of clinical experience and education became part of the inspiration for The Bridge to Clinical Excellence.
As your supervisor, my goal isn't to give you all the answers or teach you to practice exactly as I do. My job is to help you develop your own clinical judgment, strengthen your professional identity, recognize when you need consultation, and become a confident, ethical, competent clinician.
I believe supervision should be supportive and educational, but also honest, practical, and sometimes challenging.
And yes—there will probably be some laughter along the way.

I don't simply want to help you become licensed.
I want to help you become the kind of clinician those letters should represent.
